Ice is formed in a very strange cycle. When you start to chill water, temperature will decrease steadily
and water will cool down, until it reaches zero degrees. At zero, the gage
will stop, while you continue to chill the water further, the temperature won’t
change. Apparently, as you continue to chill the water, energy of water particles reduce but temperature won’t fall any further. After a very long time that looks
like eternity, suddenly the first crystal is formed, and in a quick manner
the whole water transforms into ice crystals. Before you know, the gage starts
to soar below zero steadily as you continue to chill the water.
The strange phenomenon, is observed in the reverse cycle of
melting the ice. This zero degree is the critical point. To move away from this zero degree, you need to spend lots of energy without seeing any immediate effect and you need to
persist!
I believe human relations are the same, they easily reach
state zero, either from above or below zero, and there is the critical point in
which they get stuck! The gage continues to show zero, so there is no change in
the status but the engagement level of the parties is gaining or losing
momentum.
When you get to a zero state it becomes tricky, cause you have to spend enough energy to get it out of that state and then let it work its way out. If it doesn't get out of zero state, you will never know where you are heading, no gage, no indication, no way of measuring how much longer you have to keep up.
The trick with state zero is exactly this, no way to measure, no indicator! It's a no go zone, but we end up there again and again, and we get stuck there, unable to get out. We never gain that momentum to get out of it, cause we have to spend so much energy on it, without seeing an immediate outcome, it's even worse if both sides are in state zero that could practically end romance altogether. someone, something, somehow that energy to get out of state zero should be spent.
Time is the most precious resource we have, it is the only thing that can't be gained back once gone! We have become so stingy on how to spend time, and yet it takes lots of time to get out of this state zero. When I hit a state zero, I sometimes wonder, should I get a fresh start or work it work...
